Who is Elijah Ben Sapir from Bloodsucking Fiends and what is their importance?

Sapir is the vampire who turns Jody into a vampire. He is responsible for the murders that the police are investigating, but all his victims are already fatally ill. Sapir is an old vampire, and he has a custom-made yacht that is run electronically, allowing him to live a solitary existence. Sapir believes that any human who knows about him must be killed, otherwise he will be hunted down. He also believes that other vampires are dangerous, and yet he is drawn to create another vampire. He gives Jody clues to how to survive and then amuses himself by watching what she does and how she reacts.
