What happened to Smith in the village of Werowocomoco in Chapter 15?

Captain Smith tells the group that he was captured by 200 Indians, who took him to feasts, as well as to the village of Werowocomoco, where he met Chief Wahunsonacock, and where a group of more than 200 natives prepared to club him to death. A little girl, however, intervened on his behalf, throwing herself on top of him.
