Who is Alex Delaware from Blood Test and what is their importance?

Alex Delaware is a psychologist who becomes involved in a series of adventures after a child is taken from the hospital against medical advice. Alex is serious about his profession and believes in his ability to help people. He is thirty-five and has made a series of good investments so that he no longer holds open a regular practice and sees patients only as referrals from the legal system and some friends. Alex becomes the target for two killers at the same time which ends in one of them killing the other. While he knows that he should remain in hiding as the police work on the case, he finds himself unable to do so and begins an investigation of his own. Following leads he discovers, he comes to find out the truth about the situation and learns about the parentage of the various characters at the heart of the story.
