Who is Dhritarashtra from The Bhagavad Gita and what is their importance?

Dhritarashtra is the audience of the book's tale. He asks Sanjaya at the beginning what has occurred upon the battlefield. His messenger begins by describing the appearance of the fields with their officers and weapons and then describes the discussion of Arjuna and Krishna.
