What is the theme in Beware, Princess Elizabeth by Carolyn Meyer?

One major theme in the novel is that of family discord, specifically, the discord create by Henry VIII in the way his children, all three from different mothers, were treated and ultimately set against each other. From the start, Henry banished, bastardized, reunited with, and ignored his children according to his whims.
