What is Solan Goose in Beside the Ocean of Time?

Solan Goose is the name of the Viking ship, on which Thorfinn journeys on one of his trips back in time. In Thorfinn's fictional adventure, he sails on the Solan Goose in the company of Vikings to Byzantium.
