Who is Belinda Portman from Belinda?

Belinda Portman is the novel's main character, a young woman, who is honest, well brought up, and a credit to her family. Unfortunately, Belinda is immediately judged by others due to her position as a guest in the Delacour home. Lady Delacour's questionable reputation rubs off on the girl before anyone gets the chance to know her. Over the course of the novel, Belinda will come to be seen for the wonderful young girl she is.
