Who is Augustus Vincent from Belinda?

Augustus Vincent is a wealthy man, who is also perceived to be both respectable and honorable. Unfortunately, he is also one of the barriers between Belinda, and her love for Hervey. Vincent falls in love with Belinda and intends to have her as his wife, thus, he becomes consumed by jealousy, anger, and bouts of temper. Ultimately, his desire for Belinda exposes all of his worst character traits.
