The text incorporates a wide variety of tones and textures due to the inclusion of multiple selections from various authors. However, the bulk of the material written by Cooper, the author, bears a similar tone of paranoia, coupled with a complicit attitude of being superior, but also somehow 'in the know' along with the reader.
