The novel is written from the third person omniscient point of view, which means that there is no narrator and the story is not told from the perspective of one of the characters as in the first person point of view. With the third person point of view the author is able to share the plot line as well as the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. By utilizing this style, the author is able to tell the events of the main characters lives both in the present and in the past in addition to their thoughts and feelings about those events.
