"Beautiful Creatures" is fairly fast-paced with a only a few passages in which the reader is likely to become bogged down in detail. There is quite a bit of language that is specific to the book. In these cases, the words are typical to everyday language but are used in atypical ways. For example, Lena faces the Claiming. Though Claiming is not an unusual word, it refers to a specific action in the lives of the Casters. There are other references to Binding, being Bound, and Casts. Again, the words themselves are not unusual but they each refer to specific situations and events of this story.
