Ralph Roberts from Bag of Bones is a kindly old man in his seventies that does volunteer work for the Red Cross. He is kind and sympathetic to Mike when they are both at the diner, and suggests that Mike might need a vacation to deal with his wife's death. It is some of the best advice that Mike has gotten. Later, he learns that Ralph has died when he was struck by a car.
