Apple is one of the most well-known and wealthiest tech companies in the world. It is an embodiment of the type of company, process, ambitions, and financial perspectives that come out of Silicon Valley, with its success and prestige being the goal of companies like Theranos that make their beginnings there. The work and reputation of both Apple and its founder, Steve Jobs, were particular inspirations, almost obsessions with Elizabeth Holmes, with virtually everything she did at Theranos, on both the personal and professional levels, designed to closely follow in the footsteps laid by Apple's style, technological innovation, and reputation.
