Mary was one of Lucy's nurses. Lucy describes Mary as caring and honest.... and she appreciated that Mary didn't lie to her by telling her that something wouldn't hurt. She let Lucy know that she understood the upcoming pain and sympathized, but that she couldn't do anything to eliminate it. Lucy appreciates this tactic much more than those who promise it won't hurt.
