I suspect a lot of her need stems from her unfulfilling home life. Her father, sister, and brother are physically absent, and her mother is emotionally absent. She lives too far away from other children to play with them. So she creates worlds in her head that make sense to her and which she can control. She has no control over other parts of her life.
