Soredamours was one of Queen Guinevere's handmaidens and Sir Gawain's sister. She traveled with King Arthur and Queen Guinevere to Brittany, where she falls in love with Alexander. Consumed by love, she convinces herself that her love is not returned. After Alexander defeats the count, however, he visits Queen Guinevere's tent to ascertain Soredamours' feelings for him. Guinevere, who has noticed their love, offers to arrange their marriage. Soredamours marries Alexander, and the couple has a son, Cliges. After Alexander's death, Soredamours grieves herself to death.
