How does the author use foreshadowing in Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret?

One example of foreshadowing in the novel can be seen in Margaret's grandmother telling her that she will be a "late bloomer", foreshadowing the fact that Margaret will need to wait a bit longer before getting her period.
