After Napoleon contracts to sell the hen's eggs to humans (400 per month), the hens rebel by laying their eggs in the rafters and allowing them fall to the ground. Napoleon respond to their rebellion by attempting to starve them into submission. He even goes so far as to make feeding them a crime. After five days, and nine deaths, the others give up.
