When Prior Walter is first introduced at the beginning of the play, he has his first Karposis Sarcoma lesion. As the first part progress, he loses weight and suffers all sort of mental and physical debilitation, including hallucinations. During a stint in the hospital, Louis leaves him. After the Angel appears to Prior, he loses eight pounds, and his vision deteriorates. He overexerts himself stalking Joe Pitt and winds up in the hospital again. When we last see Prior, he has been living with AIDS for five years and his health seems stable.
