America is in the Heart

After learning English, Carlos tried his hand at different kinds of writing. He wrote articles for the Filipino newspaper during the labor movement and during the movement for Filipino citizenship. He later wrote poetry after leaving the hospital. His first book of poetry, Letter from America, was published shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
