Who is Angus?

Angus is a foreman at the farm near Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. He is symbolic of the cruel, over-confident man who is welding every bit of power he possesses. Angus jerks on the reins of his horse and when Sarah says he is too rough, he jerks harder. Angus allows James and some others to gamble without turning them in as long as they let him play.
