All Quiet on the Western Front

When Paul went home on leave, how do you think he felt about the way his friends and family thought about the war?

Paul was disenchanted with the people at home. He is seen as a hero of sorts but civilians tend to know nothing about what actually happens at the front. People at home romanticize the war and are under the illusion that Germany is doing well. Paul knows the brutal truth about what is actually happening.
