All Our Names is told from two different characters' point of view. Half of the novel is told from a narrator whose name is never really known until Isaac gives him his own name towards the end of the novel. The second half is told months late by a social worker named Helen who is assigned to assist a man named Isaac. The two segments interchange one after the other for the entirety of the novel. The story is related in the first person as the narrator and Helen reminisce over their experiences. Both points of view are limited to the thoughts and events of the character narrating in their own segments.
