Why does Quinn make a video for Willy?

Quinn decides to record a video of himself talking to Willy from the protest. He tells Willy in the video that their father had been one kind of hero and that he believes it is important for them to be heroes as well. Quinn suggests to Willy in the video that one way they can be heroes is by fighting for social justice.
