on page 78 Ben says " This is what I have done to him." Examine Ben's interpretation of his father;s behaviour.
Ben's father is clearly upset, unsettled, and wary. The two are unable to have a real conversation and only talk about things that are unimportant. Ben's father leaves for a short period of time to take medication for his blood pressure. In essence, Ben blames himself for his father's physical and emotional state.
