He views them with suspicion, but then he and Buck become good friends. Huck feels badly for the Grangerfords because they have so much wealth, but they are eaten up with violence and family feuding with the Shepherdsons that they can't seem to move forward with their lives. He comes to like all of the family, but can't understand the 30 years feud that they all seem to accept without problem.
