What happened at Missionary Ridge? Who gives the first- hand account of what actually happened?

John gives an account of his units entrapment and the way they were cut off from their supplies by snipers set up on the Ridge. The men were starving and trapped at Chicamaugua Creek. In the end, the Army of Cumberland scaled Missionary Ridge and broke the Confederate line, forcing a Confederate retreat.
