A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings

This is asking for your opinion. I can give you mine. I really liked this story from the first time I read it. The author the late, Gabriel García Márquez , was a master of magic realism. The story feels like a parable of what we might do with the divine if it came upon us. Humanity often fails to see goodness if it is not within certain parameters of our expectations. The old man is a Christ-figure or at least metaphorical of an angel. The people were blind to its goodness and don’t deserve salvation.
