During the three-hour recess, Jake avoids Harry Rex and drives to his childhood home in Karaway where he visits his boyhood room. It has remained unchanged. He remembers Hanna's room, now burned. Then, he rehearses his closing argument using his own notes, not Lucien's. I think he goes their to connect with his past.
