Significance of Sneakers

The sneakers represent Drew’s youth. Josie found slacks, a tie, a dress shirt, and a blazer for Drew to wear during the trial. The outfit makes him look more mature and accomplished than he is. She does not get him dress shoes, however. He is instructed to wear his old sneakers. These shoes represent Drew’s youth and lack of maturity.
