How is the vigorous tenacity of love always so much stronger than hate shown in the characters of A Tale of Two Cities?

It is said that love and hate are sides of the same coin and in Tale of Two Cities this is illustrated to the extreme. Either one or the other links all of the characters throughout the novel. In each instance, love is shown to be stronger than hate. For example, when Lucie was able to give life and purpose back to Dr. Manette.
