What happens to Thisbe?

Lucien has no choice but to give Thisbe to Le Brun as payment for the portrait. Thisbe reveals that her real name is Marguerite Carter, and she is given a contract of freedom. Le Brun and Marguerite go to Maine and then settle in France. They have one child, though they never marry.
