What does Lucien ask Lily to prepare for Byron's going-away party, and what preparations does she make?

Lucien asks Lily to smoke the female pig for the party. Lily goes to the pen, gets the sow, kills it, and scapes off the hair with scalding water and a razor. She removes the hooves and knuckles. She cuts and yanks the rich pieces of fat for lard to render later. Then she fires up the pit and leaves the sow in the smokehouse to crackle and smoke for most of the day.
