When Sylvie invokes the name of Elisabeth Louise Vigee to try to get Le Brun to show her portrait. He tells her that his relative was treated well by the queen. The queen provided her lodging and saw that she did not want for comfort. When his kinswoman dropped her paint supplies to the ground, the queen pick them up. Before the paints were dry on a portrait, the queen promptly paid her for the sitting. He warns Sylvie to take care when she uses his kinswoman's name.
