Who is Lady Barbara Leighton from Ship of the Line and what is their importance?

Barbara Leighton is Admiral Leighton's wife. We met Barbara earlier in the series before her marriage, when she was one of Horatio's love interests. In Ship of the Line, Horatio's serving under Barbara's husband proves to be uncomfortable. She is a minor character in this novel.
