Dr. Michael Connelly was on staff at the hospital where Annie's friends took her when she suffered with her break down. He treated Annie as an adolescent and had prior knowledge of her mental condition, and it was his knowledge that caused her to be so fearful when Mary Louise, her main supervisor at Glenwood, received a letter from him. Dr. Connelly, however, did not condemn her work with children and was, in fact, complementary.
