Jacob is a widower. When father, named Jacob, comes home, he tells Anna and Caleb about his ad in the newspaper for a wife. Sarah Wheaton, a woman who has never been married, writes back, asking them about their father and his children. Sarah comes and through a few trials and tribulations, ends up marrying Jacob. The kids are really happy.
