How did the narrator and his species get on board in the book, A History of the World in 10 ½ Chapters?

The narrator had a parent with foresight and they got on board without bribery and violence. While Noah and his sons were frisking the animals as they came up the gangway, the narrator and his family were already in their bunks. One of the ship's carpenters carried them to safety on board without knowing it.
