What is the main idea of the novel? What is it portraying?

Bradbury bases the novel on the decline of the movie industry. It is a story portraying the way in which the powerful, major studios began losing control of their personnel during the 1950s, and the personnel (actors, directors, camermen, ect.) began taking control of their own futures.
