The Count’s desk serves as a symbol of his aristocratic background. It once belonged to the man who was called the Grand Duke.... the Count’s godfather and a counselor to the Tsar. The desk has hidden compartments in its legs, where the Count hides gold coins from those who have imprisoned him.
