Almost all of the characters seem to push the envelope when it comes to courage. Most of them are good people trying to do the right thing in a world that seems bent on keeping them from doing that. Surrounded by this they are brave enough to hold on to happiness when they find it. A good example is in chapter 21: the coward dies a thousand deaths, the brave but one." pg. 139
