Hannah takes Buddy to the vet to be put to sleep. Buddy knows that this is the end and that he has done everything a dog is supposed to do. He feels the love from Hannah as he feels a tiny pinch between Doctor Deb's fingers. Instantly the pain in his leg recedes. He feels a sense of peace. The touch of Hannah's hands fade, and he floats away in the water. He feels very happy.
