Phillip is a Flemish warrior. He and his troops meet the French in battle at the river Lys. Although, Phillip's troops effectively attack the French, their accelerated advance, however, allows Enguerrand to attack from behind. His forces flee, and during the escape, Artevelde loses his seating and is trampled.
