Ser Sandor Clegane from A Clash of Kings is a tortured soul. He is the younger brother to Gregor and half of his face is disfigured from his brother holding his face in a fire when they were younger. Between the two, Sandor has a conscience and particularly hates what Joffrey does to Sansa. He is the only one that Joffrey hasn't asked to beat Sansa, which is odd. Joffrey calls him 'the hound' because he follows Joffrey everywhere. In the end, he is his own man and offers to help Sansa run away from the Castle.
