Grand Maester Pycelle from A Clash of Kings is the grand maester of the Seven Kingdoms and currently serves the Lannisters and Baratheons. Tyrion finds out that the good maester is a spy for Cersei and so he throws him into the dungeons. He only releases him when he is able to blackmail Lancel into becoming his spy on Cersei.
