Why does Yanek witness two soldiers doing to a deer? What happened to the soldiers?

Two guards lured a deer to the fence and tied its antlers to it, earning both the derision of Yanek and the punishment of their commandant superior. The soldiers were pulled off duty, their zoo priviledges were taken away, and they weren't allowed to watch movies in the camp movie theatre for three months.
