In African men make the farm and owes the major plants on the farm. The rest like vegetables belongs to the woman if he is married. Men normally plant the yam as women palnt stuff like cassava, onion, pepper, okro etc
The major cash crops on the farm belong to the men. Any other lesser vegetables, like those used in the household, are considered woman's crops. This falls apart when the culture is impacted by colonization.
