In the Landlady how do you come to the conclusion that the landlady might be a witch?

The Landlady isn't a witch, she's a taxidermist. They stuff dead animals to be decorative items. She might have stuffed the two boys earlier.

A strong clue might be the contradiction in the fact that she says that those boys are still in her house, but she speaks of them in a past tense.
