"Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" is a sermon that Jonathan Edwards first delivered to his Northampton, Massachusetts congregation in June 1741. In this Great Awakening sermon, perhaps the most famous in American history, Edwards advises his listeners to turn away from sin and accept Christ as their Savior, lest they find themselves judged by an "angry god" and doomed to eternal torment in hell.
