Jonathan Livingston Seagull

Can a teacher make copies of "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" to use with her 8th graders or does she need to purchase 36 copies of the book? Internet has the book for reading-is it still copyrighted?

It is neither right nor polite to make copies. No need of purchasing 36 copies, either. As the internet has the book for reading, the students can read from it. If the teacher wishes certain pages for discussion or group studies, only that short portions can be copied.
